You’ve Got to Read This Book!
Last Friday I talked about taking some time off to lose yourself in a good book. Today I want to talk about finding yourself in good books.
Jack Canfield, co-creator of “The Chicken Soup for The Soul” franchise joined forces back in 2006 with Gay Hendricks (author of Conscious Living) to create a something truly special: “You’ve Got to Read this Book.” 55 people share the story of the book that changed their life. Some of the contributors you have heard of - Singer/Songwriter Kenny Loggins and Tim Ferris (The Four Hour Work Week) for example, but some will become new friends. Some of the books you will have heard of and probably even read. I found it fascinating to compare my experience with these books to theirs. I also have a really long reading list now. I’m looking forward to reading them and then going back to these essays to compare our experiences. I was interested to see the wide variety of books discussed as well - from Gone With the Wind to The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, from Don Quixote to Mein Kampf.
In the Introduction, Charles “Tremendous” Jones is quoted as saying, “You will be the same person in five years that you are today except for two things: the people you meet and the books you read.” Here is an opportunity to do both, meet new people and read incredible books.
Who will you be in five years?

Hello, my name is Sandra and I am proud to be a Professional Virtual Assistant! I have worked in the Virtual Assisting Industry as an independent VA and through a Virtual Staffing Agency (VSA). I have done Sales and Customer Service for a VSA and I have been a client with a VA Team of my own. I've seen it from every angle! I have developed a passion not only for this industry but also for mentoring and training women who want to have successful VA Businesses.

I plan on stopping by my local library to checkout the book. Thanks for the tip!
Better yet - go online and reserve it. Then have it delivered to your local branch and pick it up. I do this all the time and it costs 50 cents to do. It’s great because I don’t waste time trying to figure out where the heck the book is, only to find it’s checked out!
