Spring is Sprung!

Apr 9, 2009  |  under VA's Just Want to Have Fun!  |  by Sandra

There is an amazing thing happening in my backyard. There is fruit on the nectarine tree, there are little purple flowers on a bush that I don’t know the name of and leaves are bursting forth from the grapevine that serves as my patio cover.

I was born with a brown thumb. My mother had a green thumb but she didn’t leave it to me. I can kill a silk plant. No kidding! If you don’t dust them, they turn brown. Dead. (OK so I don’t live to do household chores!)

Ah, but I digress…

So, in my backyard, there is this amazing thing going on…Mother Nature is doing her thing without any interference from me. It truly is a miracle. And it’s so much fun to watch. I love walking out there every morning and seeing new leaves and now the very tiny new bunches of grapes on the vines. I love seeing the new life emerge and I feel reborn myself! I appreciate that it does all of this without me!

What is your favorite thing about spring?

Hi there — I found you through the 31DBBB ^__

My favourite thing about Spring is the smell!! I love when everything smells fresh after a winter of having the windows shut & the heat on. I also love seeing the grass come out FINALLY.

I love springtime, even though I have terrible allergies. It is amazing to see the dry lifeless twigs in my yard start to bud and turn into beautiful roses.

    I found your blog via Problogger’s 31DBBB.

Saw your comments in 31DBBB and wanted to lend my support! Great blog you’ve got started!
The thing I love most about Spring is cherry blossoms, the are only around for a very short time but so beautiful!

    Hi Desiree,

Thanks for stopping by! I know exactly what you mean - I can’t wait for the smell of freshly mowed grass.

    Take care,
    Sandra

I’m here from the 31 Day Better Blog Challenge too. You have such a soft and pretty template. :) I thought about being a VA but just wasn’t the right type to go out and get clients.

    Hi Laura,

Thanks for stopping by! I appreciate the compliment on the template - it was something I carefully considered. There is a lot of information to go through here and it can be overwhelming. I don’t want the visual part to add to the overwhelm.

Getting clients is probably the biggest challenge for most people but it’s not as hard as it looks. I’ll be introducing some basic ways to gently market yourself this week and then going into more depth later with a course designed around getting clients without feeling like you are doing “sales.” (Hint: Just having blog is a huge first step! :) ) I invite you to subscribe to my feed - the info will be helpful in many areas, not just for marketing as a VA.

    Have fun!
    Sandra

P.S. I like your blog I’ll definitely be checking it out more as I am one of those Grrls! - Good Luck!

I love Spring although I live in the desert so, I do not remember the last time I smelled fresh cut grass (one of my fav things). We do have hummingbirds and lots of them!

My mother also killed silk plants. I am sure that is a talent that only a few have. I on the other hand can grow just about anything. Yes, I even have my plants named and I also talk to them. By the way, don’t be laughing at me - I help supply your oxygen. LOL!

    Hey Sheryl,

Sorry - I’m laughing, but I do appreciate the oxygen! :)
And I am very grateful to know I am not along in my talent for killing silk plants! I think I need to start a support group.

    Thanks for stopping by!
    Sandra
