One Small Step for ProVA, One Giant Leap for Me!
Question: How do you eat an elephant?
Answer: One bite at a time!
I used this riddle in a post last week and I’ve used it in other situations as well. This time, however, it really hit home. For years I have wanted to have a truly viable Internet business. There was a lot of searching for ideas, methods, strategies and products. I kept forging ahead bit by bit, planning, developing, revising - bit by bit.
Actually bite by bite. Somehow when I typed in that phrase last week it hit me, really hit me - that is exactly what I have been doing. Eating that huge Elephant that has been hiding under my rug, one bite at a time. There were times when he seemed bigger than he really is. Times like when I would have a whole list of things I wanted to do but no time or money to do them. Times when I felt like I was reinventing the wheel because I just couldn’t find the blueprints. Times when I felt very alone because the people I expected to believe in me, didn’t.
But then there were times when that elephant tasted like chocolate! When I discovered the VA Industry. When I learned that I could share my experiences and help others. When I first installed WordPress and saw my words come to life.
Yes, sometimes it seems like for every bite I take out of that elephant he doubles in size. But that’s one of the great things about him - I know there’s more chocolate and for every bite I savor, there will be more flowing!
So the next time you feel like you just want to shoot that elephant, stop. Give him a hug and ask for chocolate. I bet he gives it to you!
Enjoy!
