Do You Know Your Value?

Jun 5, 2009  |  under Something to think about  |  by Sandra

A friend sent me this video and I just had to share it. Yes, it’s hysterically funny but only because we know it to be true.

Invest two minutes and watch it - do you see  yourself in it. And if you do (be honest!) which role are you playing? I’m willing to bet that you’ve played both sides.

Remember this the next time your client wants  you to do excellent work for mediocre pay.

And remember that “no” is not a four letter word.

Too funny! I used to work in the Title/Escrow industry and I remember a client wanted me to do a full search on a property for free and he was angry that I said no. We were libel if we gave that customer information and it was incorrect even if we didn’t charge him. If he paid for the service he would have been protected and the title company would have been also because he would have signed an agreement to what we would insure. With out this agreement we would have been libel for more than the paid agreement. What you bring up Sandra is very valid. Thanks for the video!

Oh yea Jo-Ann! The entire Real Estate Industry gets hit with this. I remember when I was an agent - a “close friend” asked me to be her agent for 1/4 of my normal commission. She was our daycare provider (back in the days when my kids were in daycare) and I asked her if she would care for my kids for 1/4 of her fee. And then I asked her if my kids would receive the same quality care as the other “full price” kids.

Needless to say I did not represent her and my kids are no longer in her care! :)
